37 StabwoundZ was born in the early summer of 2001 after Servé parted ways with the successful Dutch formation Born From Pain. With the intent never to leave the ‘loud-music’ genre, but moreover to start a new project, he caught up with drummer Roy, formerly known from deathmetal cult Opus Nocturne, and started working on challenging material. Both experienced a solid interaction and were directly convinced that this happening should not merely stay a ‘just-for-fun project’. So the quest for a vocalist and bassist was initiated and after only a short period Mike, singer for Chainslack, and Richard, bassist in M-town based Downshot, completed the collective which received the name 37 StabwoundZ.

The band started doing gigs late summer of that very same year, providing the audience a contemporary interpretation of 90’s style metal and hardcore. Their unique live show could be witnessed at gigs with smaller and bigger hardcore or metal acts, through which they created a more than modest fame in and around Holland. The demoCD ‘Ain’t life grand...’, available at that time, was received well, though 2002 was not more than a transient passage before taking it to the next level; the first full length! While started in the spring of 2003, it were falling leaves accompanying the completion of the nine professionally recorded songs. A double dozen matching record companies we’re approached of which a couple showed high amounts of interest. A few months later Garden of Exile records brought the highly anticipated ‘Embrace Solitude’ album on the market around the globe.

With the debut album out and their forces joined with the Loudnoise agency, 37 gained maximum national appreciations. They embarked on an intense trip doing numerous gigs and festivals in 2004, containing highlights like the Pinkpop festival (featuring acts like Lenny Kravitz, MUSE and The Black Eyed Peas), the Goudvishal anniversary HC event, Booch 2004 and the by Converse sportswear sponsored Choose Your Weapon tour.

In the midst of all these afore mentioned performances, the preparations for the first international tour were made. From the 4th of January 2005 the Iberian tour was a fact in full effect, roaming the fields of southern Europe. In this first tour 37 StabwoundZ headlined the international BASH winter festival in Bilbao (E).

Coming back from a very productive and great time, a copious number of new (international) performances were already waiting, leaving them to perform along side with e.g. The Dillinger Escape Plan and Crowbar. In addition, the band was invited for the Converse Choose Your Weapon Tour, but this time as headlining act

Now, with the summer at hand 37 StabwoundZ retreat themselves for the production of their second album. From September 2005 they are back on the road again reaching out to Germany, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain and Hungary till the end of this year, where they’ll continue to play all your socks off… HARD!
