Obliteration of the Self is the debut EP of Inert, a two-headed monster that exudes death metal from every pore of its body. Influenced by bands such as Dismember, Grave, Entombed, Morbid Angel, Death or Bloodbath, this two-man project blends old school death metal with more modern elements.
Obliteration of the Self contains three songs (four in the vinyl version) about society, religion, and death. These four songs are full of aggression, lots of groove, d-beats, caustic buzzing guitar riffs, and evil growls.

Inert is a two-man band created by two friends who share a passion for extreme music. After some time playing together in the underground metal scene of Barcelona, and Xavier moving to Stockholm (Sweden), Gustavo and Xavier decided to unite forces again and create a metal band with almost 3.000 km in between. Inert was founded in mid 2015, and despite the distance, Gustavo and Xavier recorded in 2016 Obliteration of the Self, an EP that shows their vision on death metal. In October 2016 Inert signed a deal with Neckbreaker Records to release two albums. First, a re-mastered vinyl version of the EP that includes a brand new song (in April 2017). And second, their first LP due to be released in late 2017.
